Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What mods does WFAR use?
Our primary mods include ACE, Task Force Radio, CUP, CUP Terrains and enhanced visuals and soundscape mods. We also have some minor mods that improve the base game mechanics such as advanced movement and our own custom built mods only available in this unit. Our modpack can be found in the #information channel. We do update our modpack when new mods come out or are discovered based on the unit's needs and wants. |
Who does WFAR perform and execute missions as?
We roleplay as the United States Marine Corp. We are an infantry based unit. We strictly follow the role of playing as the USMC for all Main Milsim Operations (Saturdays). Our Side Operations are mainly run as the role of USMC, but it is up to the mission creator (Zeus/Overseer) to determine what role we're playing for their hosted Operation. We have in the past experimented with other factions based on the lore and storyline presented by the individual hosting the mission. |
Does WFAR only play as modern USMC Forces?
We do play as Modern United States Marine Corps during our Main OPs only. However as previously stated, our Side OPs are run to the pleasure of what story our Zeus is trying to portray. We have experienced playing as British, German, and Russian Forces. We do actively play as Private Military Contractors on occasion and do present the opportunity to partake in "Zombie" OPs during Side Operations. |
What kind of missions does WFAR run?
Our missions range from large scale warfare and battles to small scale little conflicts depending on the objectives and procedures being covered. Our missions can be quiet and still as the night while some can be as loud as the beaches of Normandy. Some examples of our missions are:

Does WFAR host Zeus OPs or Premade Eden Editor OPs?
Our certified Overseers (Zeuses) typically opt to make OPs in real time, typically before the hosting time that was announced. Campaigns are typically higher caliber OPs, meaning that Overseers experiment with both Eden Editor and the Zeus Interface. All unit members can host un-official WFAR Side Ops by gathering members and friends on the server without the full access of our announcements tab. To have the ability to announce an "Official Operation," members are asked to be a part of (and complete) the Overseer program which is run by A. Libby. This program is designed to teach new Zeuses the ropes and the theory that we like to instill in our operations. Furthermore, the program ensures that each mission is run to a high quality and exceeds the standard that we expect for each mission. |
How often does WFAR host OPs?
Our Main Operations happen every weekend, on Saturdays at 4EST. Side Operations average at 2-3 ops per week, but these are often "unscheduled" and may be interrupted with MOS training opportunities. Trainings happen throughout the week as well, providing valuable insight in a specific infantry class or role in the unit or a general team-style training to boost knowledge, performance, and comradery. |
What happens if I can't attend a Main Operation?
If you are unable to attend a main operation due to previous commitments or unforeseen events, we ask that you put in an LOA in the designated #loa channel. We don't need to know all the details if you are unwilling to share them, as long as we can see you put one in then we are happy. This helps us be proactive in our squad and team assignment and protects your attendance records. |
What if I don't know what my schedule is like?
If you are unsure as to your current schedule or your future schedule, that is fine. We just ask that you kindly let us know that you may be unavailable. Like previously stated, we do ask that you put in an LOA in the #loa so that we are kept up to date. We are big believers in "life comes first" and we will be here when you are free and able. We just ask that you kindly keep us in the loop. |
Does WFAR host Side OPs?
As previously stated, we do run Side Operations. Our Overseers often provide us with multiple Side Ops per week. These are not mandatory nor scheduled, often announced the day before or on the day they will be hosted. Any "Official WFAR Side Op" will be posted in our Announcements channel. We do encourage our members who are not certified Overseers to still use our server with other members to get together and have some fun. |
Is it possible to join WFAR for an OP whenever?
We welcome anyone to come check us out for a Side Operation. These operations are a more laidback atmosphere, and are not our Main Milsim standard. We do recommend those who are new to the game or our unit to perform in a Basic Combat Training. A BCT (Basic Combat Training) goes over certain things specific for our unit. Our BCT is not to just train you to be a soldier but to make sure you have a firm grasp on our mod set. |
Does WFAR have aviation?
We do have an Aviation support class available periodically. We are an infantry first unit, with our main focus being boots on the ground. Aviation will only appear if it is necessary for that week’s mission. Aviation uses the advanced flight model and has a high learning curve due to the nature of the flight model. All members of Aviation must also have gone through the infantry's basic combat training as whilst we aim to include Aviation in all missions, sometimes it is not possible due to enemy anti-air measures. Our main focus as a unit is to be infantry unit, with other elements supporting the infantry. Aviation is a subsection we run that is used to support ground infantry forces |
What roles does WFAR offer?
We offer various roles in the unit, many of which are infantry focused. These roles include:
Some of these classifications open up new equipment and new opportunities. Our leadership positions are usually granted to those who have shown outstanding commitment to the unit and well regarded by their peers. We do have a strict policy of one MOS (Military Occupational Specialty Code) per mission. You can be trained in multiple specializations, but we only allow an individual to run one per mission. To be trained, you can message any staff members or take a look in the #training-requests forum and use the correct specialization tab you're looking for! |
